Who are Harvey and Hugo?
This is a question, I'm frequently asked whenever meeting new people and they discover its my business, but my surname isn't incorporated in the name.
I'm sure lots of people already know by now, but for those of you who don't, well, its my dogs! Generally after saying that, people laugh or give me a disapproving look!
I then try to rebuild my credibility by explaining that the business is not just named after them, but the services are centred around their personalities too. However this just leads to more laughs and disapproving looks!
Hugo is a little border terrier who is completely crazy! When I first suggested my idea of Pay-as-you-go PR packages, I was told that the idea was crazy, hence, Pay-as-Hugo PR was born!
Harvey is much more sensible and enjoys routine, therefore he inspired the more regular PR work for clients and also his monthly local online newsletter, Harv-e-news!
Occasionally I meet a fellow dog lover who thinks its a fabulous idea and if they are a border terrier lover, then that's even better, I instantly become their PR agency of choice and have been asked to do PR for a business purely because we share a love of the feisty little creatures!
There have been times, when people call the office to ask to speak to Mr Harvey or Mr Hugo and they have been appalled to discover that they are sleeping under the desk, however its a little more acceptable to be 'out on a lead'.
Despite having told the 'who are Harvey & Hugo' story now probably over 100 times and wondering why I hadn't just called it Nichols PR, I'm now starting to be recognised when I'm introduced as 'the one with the dogs'. Of course, I'd rather be recognised for being 'the one who delivers great PR results', but at least I'm being remembered and hopefully that reputation will come later.

YAY!
I'm so honoured to have made it through to the final! There was some really tough competition and I was so surprised and delighted when I got a call to say I was going through.
Thank you to everyone who has voted for me so far and please keep the votes coming.
Sorry this is short and sweet, will hope to blog again very soon, but I'm about to get stuck into writing a proposal and am then off to an press call at the Open Day for the Clervaux Trust in Croft. Busy Busy! Might have to ask Harvey & Hugo to start doing a bit of blogging for me.....
